Fellow Dring-a-lings

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

I'm just starting to get into this project and will update as I go on with it.

As far as I know,My grandfather,Thomas Dring, came from minnessota near the Canadian border. He married Laverna ? Baker in the 30's.

My father James L. Dring was born in March of 1933 in Minnesota,a twin brother of Jane (nee Dring)Workman. There was also born Cinthia, the oldest child, and Richard Dring the second oldest.

After a while, about 7 years or so the family moved to the Orange County area of California and lived there for the remainder of the children's younger years. My grandfather was suddenly killed in a car accident involving a train. So eventually ,grandmother remarried.

My father about the age of 17, then signed-up in the U.S. Air Force,in which after 6 years or so,He was stationed in France and met my mother and then I was born. Yes in France of all the places on earth,Chaumont,in the Haut Marne,Sept. 9,1956.

On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was probably obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.
